SCI attends Maryland Disabilities Day!

Several SCI Team Members attended Developmental Disabilities (DD) Day at the Maryland Legislature.  DD Day is an opportunity for advocates to influence policy. This year, over 900 advocates attended the event.  The group heard from leaders of the Maryland Developmental Disabilities Coalition, members of state department leadership and legislators on the proposed state budget for DD services, critical topics, and proposed legislation that would make changes in disability policy and services. Following DD Day, the group visited Bitty and Beau’s Coffee.  Bitty & Beau’s Coffee was founded to provide job opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and recently opened their newest location on City Dock in Annapolis.
