Participate in a local study from the comfort of your own home!
We are excited to announce a new partnership between Service Coordination, Inc. (SCI) and the University of Maryland’s professor Dr. Amanda Lazar. In support of this partnership, SCI invites you to participate in a new study from Dr. Lazar and her team that explores the technology needs of people living with dementia and their care partners. As an organization dedicated to the ongoing health and well-being of the community, SCI is pleased to join Dr. Lazar in her work and invites you to take part in this study if applicable.
Research Participation Opportunity from Dr. Lazar’s Team with the University of Maryland College of Information Studies (UMD iSchool):
Researchers at the University of Maryland are looking for people experiencing cognitive decline, mild cognitive impairment, and dementia (all stages). Our goal is to understand what technologies people use to engage in meaningful activities. Findings from this study will inform the design of everyday technologies that better support engagement of people with dementia. The study involves an audio-recorded interview of one hour and will take place through video conferencing with the participants in their home.
Participants will receive a $20 Amazon gift card as compensation for their time in video conferencing interviews. If you or someone you are the informal caregiver for are experiencing cognitive decline, mild cognitive impairment, or dementia (all stages); are currently using any form of technology to engage in meaningful and enjoyable activities; and are interested in participating in the study, please email eedixon@umd.edu or call (301) 747-1138.
