A World For Everyone

A World For Everyone

At Service Coordination, we are committed to providing quality case management. And over the decades, we’ve remained a leading provider. We’ve been able to impact thousands of lives by focusing on transformative services and resources that support people and families of all abilities and ages as they develop and achieve a vision for a good life.

We remain devoted to the important work we do each day — and we always will. At SCI, we’re not content to simply provide services and resources. We are committed to equity, inclusion, and diversity, and will continually improve service delivery systems to create A World for Everyone.

We are accomplishing that goal in several ways. We’re not only working hard to improve our person-centered approach on the ground level; we’re working at the state and federal level to impact policy that helps our community. We will never stay still; we are always working to advance our mission.

Here are a few ways that SCI is continuing to be a leader in person-centered services.

SCI is committed to utilizing the Charting the LifeCourse principles, which drive person-centered change for people with developmental and intellectual disabilities as well as their families. Our partnership with the UMKC-Institute for Human Development’s LifeCourse nexus allows us to engage with a national network of like-minded people to advance support to families.

We’ve developed the Government Relations division, which is dedicated to working with lawmakers on the state and federal level. This will lead to more awareness at the government level of underserved people. It could also lead to more funding for critical programs and services.

In Maryland, more than one million people do not receive formal supports and are not known to the system. We are dedicated to helping those people. That’s why we’ve requested funding — Empowering Unserved Marylanders For Independence and Community Connections — that would help unserved and low-income individuals and families throughout the state. No matter how much funding we receive, we will continue to support people no matter their needs — as well as the people in their support system.

This is who we are. We believe in continuous quality improvement and recognize the importance of developing and nurturing relationships that ultimately improve our organization and positively impact the lives of the people we support, their families and the communities we all live and work in. We are going to continue to take an active role, advocating for those underserved until they receive the support needed to live full lives.

We will continue to make sure that all people are valued by and included in society, and that everyone has the opportunity to strengthen their community.

And we will continue to share stories of our pioneering work. In future blog posts, we’ll dig deeper into the work we’re doing at the government level, with the Charting the LifeCourse framework, and much more.
