David Valentine, Executive Vice President and Chief Finance Officer
FREDERICK, MD – Service Coordination, Inc. (SCI), a nonprofit organization and community provider of service and advocacy for people with disabilities across Maryland, appoints David Valentine as the Executive Vice President (EVP) and Chief Finance Officer (CFO). Valentine will contribute to SCI’s overall strategic direction and performance, directly supporting executive and senior leadership.
David Valentine brings 30 years of strategy, finance, and operations leadership to SCI. He joins SCI from Goucher College, where he served as the Vice President of Finance and Administration and the Chief Financial Officer. Valentine has served in similar positions at Otis College of Art & Design, the University of Pennsylvania, GlaxoSmithKline, The Annenberg Foundation, and The Kavli Foundation. Before joining Goucher, Valentine spent two years at Otis College, where he managed the financial structure during COVID-19.
His experience with Kavli Foundation included service as the Vice President for Finance and CFO, where he effectively stewarded endowment resources of $600M and managed a $35M budget. Valentine also served as the Executive Director of Finance in the Business Services Division of the University of Pennsylvania (Penn). His notable accomplishments at Penn include the adoption of a new funding approach for student residence assets, providing better alignment of timing and financing of annual multi-million-dollar facility renewal and refresh projects, and renegotiation of several extensive contacts.

David Valentine holds a master’s degree in business administration from Drexel University and a bachelor’s from Temple University. He currently sits on the boards of the Enoch Pratt Library System in Baltimore, Kounkuey Design Initiative, a non-profit international design firm, Wissahickon Charter School in Philadelphia, and Bright Star Schools, a Charter Management Organization in Los Angeles. A Philadelphia native, Valentine currently lives in Baltimore with his wife, Deborah, and dog Brodie.
