At SCI, we love a good inclusion story, especially those that help bring communities together. That’s precisely what a Girl Scout Troop in California is doing. Troop 8542, with 12 members ages 5-11, whose mission is centered around bringing the Deaf community and American Sign Language into the organization.
“[My daughter] goes to school every day, and she is the only deaf and hard-of-hearing person there,” said a mom of the troop. “But she’d come to the troop, and suddenly she’s not the only one with a hearing aid, so that’s really important for her to see.”
