Meet Aaliyah!

It is said that “true beauty begins when you decide to believe in yourself,” for 21-year-old Aaliyah Thompson, diagnosed with autism at age 5, this saying couldn’t be more true. She believed in her passion for beauty and decided to open a salon, Aaliyah’s Beauty Bar, and will open a nail school soon.

SCI sees the beauty in all people and believes everyone should have the opportunity to pursue their dreams. With the help of our support planners and coordinators, many of the people we support had the necessary resources to accomplish amazing things, including becoming published authors, influential speakers, Special Olympic participants, and more!

“I hope that my nail school will serve as a model for inclusive entrepreneurship and inspire others to pursue their dreams, no matter their background or challenges,” Thompson said in a recent interview.
